Strip Weathers (or called King in the games, and referred to as The King by most characters) is a playable character in Cars: The Video Game. He is a seven-time Piston Cup Champion who retired the season before the events of the game, after having suffered a similar wreck to what ended Doc Hudson's career, but this time caused by Chick Hicks. King is voiced by and entirely based on the real life Richard Petty, who was also known as "The King", and is arguably the greatest real-life NASCAR driver of all time.
Roles
Story Mode
King is the only playable character in the game who has no story role other than a quick mention in the cut scene of Palm Mile Speedway.
Arcade/VS Mode
King is one of the five playable characters that can be selected for use in Piston Cup Races, once purchased for 12,000 bonus points. He is however, only playable in Piston Cup Races.
Cars: Mater-National Championship
The King does not actually appear in the game, but there are mods that add him to the game as a playable character.
Livery
King is blue with the number 43, sponsored by Dinoco Fuel.
Personality
King is easily seen as a mentor similar to Doc, but is not as grumpy. He still may easily go as far as to call inferior racers as "stupid".
Abilities
King easily excels compared to almost every other car he faces, and has won seven Piston Cups, but may also be noted of being light and easy to toss in the air with a PIT maneuver, though this never happens in the games (although it does happen to even lighter cars such as Gerald).

Trivia
- King's physics are unbalanced, and he is not able to reach speeds as high as the other characters playable in Piston Cup Races, meaning he cannot perform as well as other cars can, for example, on Motor Speedway of the South, King cannot perform a lap in under 43 seconds, while Lightning and Doc can do laps in 40 seconds.
- King is the only car to have their number written on both of their headlight locations and both of their taillight locations.
- In the movie, The King's Dinoco logo features a generic cartoon dinosaur, however, in the video game, the dinosaur is replaced with Rex from the Toy Story franchise.
