Ghosting Mater is a minigame from the first two games in the series. It involves Mater trying to get home with a lamp on his hook, it notably is based on Pixar's short "Mater & The Ghostlight".

Objective Edit

Mater must get from the starting point to his junkyard without depleting his speed. The player can boost, but cannot accelerate normally, they will have to drive over the checkpoints to regain lost speed. Also keep in mind that Mater takes turns oppositely despite not driving backwards. The player also cannot Powerslide.

Cars: The Video Game Edit

The event does not appear in the story mode. It can only be normally played in the Xbox 360 and Wii versions of the game. It can also be played in most other versions, but only with a cheat code. There is only one level.

Cars: Mater-National Championship Edit

The event now is a normal story event with 7 levels. There also is a cut scene explaining how it started, showing that Sheriff caused this ruckus to happen, and can make him seem to have an antagonist role. When all 7 levels are completed, the player will earn a sticker.

Trivia Edit

  • The sole level from Cars: The Video Game is now level 4 in Cars: Mater-National Championship.
  • If the player enters the cheat codes "ZZOOOOM" and "0TO200X", they will be able to unfairly drive forever.
