Gerald is Fletcher's colleague who appears in Cars: The Video Game and Cars: Mater-National Championship. He is very intelligent but shy.
Roles
Cars: The Video Game
In Story Mode, Gerald "hopped across the pond" to Radiator Springs with Fletcher to compete against Lightning. However, the two quickly got into a rivalry with two Mexican cars named El Guapo and Papo. Gerald appears as an opponent in Radiator Cap Circuit, North Desert Dash, Radiator Springs GP, and Tailfin Pass GP, as well as a Speeder in Level 1 of Sheriff's Hot Pursuit. He is not playable, though he appears in certain races as an opponent in Arcade Mode. However, Mods exist which make him playable.
Cars: Mater-National Championship
He appears as an opponent in North Willy's Butte, Ornament Valley Airport, Team Relay 3, and Canyon Run, all of which he is the slowest car. He isn't playable and won't appear in Arcade Mode. However, like in the first game, there are Mods that make him playable.
Cars: Race-O-Rama
Gerald does not return in this game, but a name string for him has been found in the coding. Like in the previous two games, he has been made playable through modding.
Cars:IGNITE Remake
Gerald was very likely to have appeared as a playable character, but was never officially confirmed before the project was presumably closed.
Livery
Gerald is an unusual purple-gray color with a 4 on his doors.
Personality
Gerald usually backs behind Fletcher and gives Lightning a shy look, but seems more confident around El Guapo. Various use of wise terminology can suggest him being highly intelligent.
Abilities
Gerald is the lightest car in the franchise, even lighter than the pitties, meaning he can easily slip out of any opposing clutches as if he is the one causing it. Him being practically weightless also results in the existence of a glitch where if the player slams their brakes and makes Gerald run into them, Gerald will flip over and start "ice skating" forwards until the game flips him back up.

Trivia
- Along with Count Spatula, Gerald was entirely re-enacted in the second game by the same actor for an unknown reason.
- In all versions of the first game except the Xbox 360, Gerald's icon has various details not even his artwork has, such as two steel bars coming up from his bumper and slightly different headlights. An actual fully-working Beta Model with these features has also since been discovered.
